To support high quality physical education and grow opportunities for students to be active before, during and after school, GENYOUth, with the support of the NFL Foundation, developed a turnkey approach to help America’s P.E. teachers build a foundation of healthy, lifelong physical activity for their students.
Since 2014, over 24,000 FLAG-In-Schools kits have helped 13M students get active. This kit is a great way to give your students the opportunity to “Play 60” while introducing them to the fast-paced fun of NFL FLAG.
Know a coach that did great things this year?
GENYOUth and NFL FLAG are honoring those who equip, engage and empower youth to be physically active, and we need your help! Nominate a P.E. teacher or coach who has gone above and beyond to make a positive impact for youth in your community.
NFL FLAG-In-School Kits include:
10 age appropriate footballs
50 flag belts (2 sets of colors, 25 each)
NFL FLAG poster
Participation certificates branded with NFL shield and all NFL clubs
Access to the official and standards-based NFL FIS football curriculum developed by SHAPE America for elementary, middle and high school, plus 101 Tip for Teaching Nutrition in PE
New this year: NFL FIS Rules of the Game – A dual language resource in both English and Spanish for students to take home and share with their families
FLAG-IN-SCHOOL VIDEOS: 30 new YouTube videos will teach students the fundamentals of flag football, with each lesson closing with a nutrition tip of the day from an informational resource created by Midwest Dairy and SHAPE America.
In these videos, former NFL player Lorenzo Alexander walks through each drill step-by-step and provides coaching tips to help your students improve their new football skills.
We recommend reading through each lesson, watching the videos, and scanning the nutrition tips ahead of time to best prepare your class and set everyone—including you—up for success. It might also be helpful to show your students the diagrams or videos before running each drill.
Making an Impact:
Since launching in 2014, 13 million students have become more active before, during and after school through NFL FLAG-In-Schools
98% of teachers use the kits in their PE classes
NFL FLAG-In-Schools increases PE teachers’ confidence and ability to teach/coach flag football
50 new varsity middle school girls NFL FLAG-In-Schools leagues in Miami-Dade County Public Schools and 1,100 girls now playing varsity flag football
