Footlongs and Football Are the Perfect Pair as the National Football League Announces Subway® Restaurants as Official Sponsor of the NFL

 

NEW YORK, NY & MILFORD, Conn. (July 31, 2020) – Sandwich lovers and football fans just scored a major touchdown. The National Football League (NFL) today announced that Subway® restaurants, the world's largest sandwich chain, is now an Official Sponsor of the NFL.

As an official multi-year sponsor of the NFL, Subway will have exclusive marketing rights and activation opportunities at key NFL events and experiences. The brand will also sponsor NFL FLAG, the largest U.S. flag football league and support NFL PLAY 60, which is dedicated to keeping youth active and healthy. Subway will align with key teams, players and partners to bring the sponsorship to life.

The long-term sponsorship kicks off this fall with a new ad campaign featuring NFL talent and personalities and restaurant promotions, allowing Subway fans to enjoy two of America's favorite things – Footlong subs and football.

The first edition of The World Games on American soil since 1981 has added a familiar sport to its lineup.

Women’s flag football is on its way to becoming an official National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) varsity sport by 2021, thanks to a two-year partnership between the NAIA, the National Football League (NFL) and Reigning Champs Experiences (RCX).

With support from NFL FLAG and RCX, NAIA will work to develop league infrastructure and operations for the first women’s flag football competition governed by a collegiate athletics association.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback and Super Bowl champion Russell Wilson has been named Co-Owner and Chairman of NFL FLAG. The global partnership, which was announced today, will focus on strengthening NFL FLAG domestically and expanding the league internationally.

In his new role, Wilson will work closely with Reigning Champs Experiences (RCX) President and former NFL safety Izell Reese to support league development and growth worldwide for both boys and girls.
